With a diverse background performing at events, care homes, weddings, and theatre productions across Essex, I have worked as a full-time piano and theory teacher since 2023 (achieving a 98% student exam pass rate). My focus is on providing a relaxed, patient environment where students of all ages can learn at their own pace—whether playing for fun, preparing for exams, or studying GCSE music theory.

How Lessons Work

1. Free Taster Session: A zero-pressure, 30-minute introductory session to meet, discuss your goals, and see if we are a good fit before committing.

2. Location & Format: Choose in-person lessons at my home studio, your home (across the Chelmsford district and surrounding Essex areas), or virtual sessions via Zoom.

3. Payment Subscriptions: Standard lessons run as a 45-minute weekly time slot across a guaranteed 38 lessons per year, aligning with Essex County Council term dates. This reserves your dedicated calendar appointment. For home visits, travel is bundled into a flat, transparent rate.

4. Tailored Goals & Practice: Lessons are completely customised to your ambitions—from classical exams to favourite pop songs. To build steady progress, aim for 15 to 20 minutes of practice a few times a week.

What ages and skill levels do you teach? Students of all ages and abilities, from complete adult beginners to those tackling graded exams.

Do I need a piano at home? Not necessarily; a touch-sensitive digital keyboard with weighted keys is entirely fine for beginners.

What is your cancellation policy? Standard lessons are secured on a term-time subscription. If you cannot host an in-person home visit or are unable to travel due to weather, we simply pivot seamlessly to a live online lesson via Zoom so you never miss a session.

How much do lessons cost and how do I pay? Full pricing details, subscription structures, and payment schedules are discussed and provided during your free initial taster session.

Do I need to buy books or sheet music? We will discuss any required beginner books during your taster session.
